Shiri Bibas’ Remains Mixed with Other Human Remains: Hamas Militants
Palestinian group Hamas noted on Friday that the remains of Israeli hostage Shiri Bibas appear to have been mixed with other human remains from the debris after an Israeli air strike hit the place she had been held, reported Reuters.
On Thursday, the militant group released four bodies of hostages, including those of Bibas, her two children, and Lifshitz, a retired journalist and peace activist. Bibas’ husband Yarden was released earlier this month.
The Bibas family had become an indelible symbol of the October 7 attack launched by Hamas on Israel. But last night, the Israeli military said that three bodies handed by the group in Gaza had been identified, but the fourth one remains unidentified.
The transfer of the four bodies marks the first release of bodies in the fragile month-old Gaza ceasefire. In its first stage, expiring early March, 33 Israeli hostages and soldiers are supposed to be exchanged for nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners and detainees.
