Nika Gvaramia, a prominent figure in Georgian politics and a leader of one of the nation’s key opposition parties, has become the face of a growing political crisis. Gvaramia was beaten unconscious in Tbilisi, according to his political party, the Coalition for Change. A shocking video shared on X showed him limp and being carried away by several individuals. This incident highlights the mounting tensions within Georgia, a country grappling with its stalled EU accession and deeply divided political landscape.

The attack on Gvaramia comes as protests erupt across the country in response to the government’s decision to suspend EU accession talks.
