Empowering Human Rights: UAE’s Union for Human Rights Association Takes Center Stage

 

The Union for Human Rights Association has now been officially recognized and registered as a public interest organization based in Abu Dhabi. Licensed by the Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi, the association consists of 16 human rights experts tasked with promoting respect for civil, political, economic, social, cultural, and environmental rights for all in society.

The association aims to support the adoption of international conventions and humanitarian law. It provides guidance and perspectives on national reports submitted to international human rights bodies and mechanisms, helping the nation advance human rights standards and contribute to sustainable development goals.

The group conducts research studies and publishes reports for regional and international organizations. It helps shape national programs, initiatives, and strategies to align with international law and authentically protect human rights.

Committed to raising rights awareness locally and beyond, the association organizes training, meetings, workshops, and conferences. It actively receives and coordinates field visits regarding public complaints with relevant authorities, demonstrating efforts to safeguard rights in the UAE.
