This Company To Layoff 10,000 Workers; Details Inside

Maersk, a Danish shipping company, announced that as a result of overcapacity, increased expenses, and declining prices, it would lay offat least 10,000 workers.

“Our industry is facing a new normal with subdued demand, prices back in line with historical levels, and inflationary pressure on our cost base,” stated Maersk Line CEO Vincent Clerc.

Maersk will have less than 100,000 employees worldwide as a result of the layoffs. The corporation has previously cut employment from 110,000 in January to less than 100,000. This year’s layoffs will save the company £600 million.

In the upcoming months, almost 2,500 of the 3,500 job positions will be lay off. In 2024, there will be more layoffs. The business has already started to reduce expenses by terminating workers.
