Did The UK Government Separate Children From Parents In Gaza?

British children in the Gaza Strip are allegedly being kept apart from their mothers by the UK government, according to Louise Harkin of the organization Support Families in Gaza. The Israel-Hamas conflict has resulted in ramifications for British citizens who are stuck in Gaza.

The list of individuals permitted to exit Gaza through the Rafah crossing into Egypt now includes the names of British citizens who are stranded in the Gaza Strip, according to the United Kingdom Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). However, its safe passage list did not include those without passports. Parents and British children were split up by this relocation. Some British nationals expressed dissatisfaction about the Foreign Office’s exclusion of their dependents.

According to Louise Harkin of Support Families in Gaza, “Gaza is the world’s least safe place right now.” The UK government wishes to take British children away from their moms and families despite the fact that around 10,000 individuals have been officially declared dead, nearly half of them are children.

Louise Harkin urged the government of the United Kingdom to permit British nationals residing in Gaza to bring their family along.

British civilians claimed that the UK government had “abandoned” them and described the Rafah Border Crossing, the only point of entry between Egypt and the Gaza Strip, as “absolute chaos.”

“It just feels like those of us with Palestinian heritage are always treated like second-class citizens,” a British citizen said to the media.
