Amazon Lays Off Employee, Later Tries To Rehire Him 4 Times
In January of this year, Amazon lay off 18,000 workers. It was the largest layoff in the history of Amazon.com. Major cost-cutting initiatives included layoffs. In January, another worker at Amazon was let go; this person was a business analyst. Amazon made four more attempts to rehire him later on, but he turned down the offers.
What makes the employee so unique? Why did the worker turn down the offer? What position did he hold? What was said by Amazon on the hiring procedure?
A former employee of Amazon said that his manager had assured him not to worry a month prior to his termination from the company. The worker was informed by the management that no one else could have completed the work he was doing. He was doing fantastic work, so he was shocked to receive an email informing him of his layoff and two months of severance compensation. The former worker conveyed his sorrow about the events that transpired while he worked for the organization.
He disclosed that direct management were not involved in the decisions on layoffs. In addition, the ex-worker expressed his dissatisfaction with the managerial choices.
In the meantime, 30 countries have scheduled Black Friday worker strikes under the theme “Make Amazon Pay.” The goal of the Black Friday workers’ strikes, “Make Amazon Pay,” is to assist hundreds of thousands of Amazon employees.
