Amazon Layoffs Affect Employees In 3 Continents; Details Inside
Three continents have been impacted by the most recent wave of layoffs by Amazon Music’s editorial and audio content team: South America, North America, and Europe. There were layoffs in the editorial and audio content teams at Amazon Music.
“We have been closely monitoring our organizational needs and prioritizing what matters most to the long-term health of our businesses,” an Amazon spokeswoman stated. On the Amazon Music team, a few positions have been cut. We’ll keep making investments in Amazon Music.
The most recent layoffs have affected workers in the Amazon Music division. How many employees have been cut from the corporation is yet unknown, though.
Despite Amazon’s third-quarter net profitability exceeding analyst projections, there have been recent layoffs.
An Amazon layoff earlier this year impacted 18,000 positions from several divisions worldwide. The departments impacted by the layoff were Twitch, PXT, Advertising, and AWS. Afterward, Amazon let go of an additional 9,000 workers from the advertising, HR, and cloud computing divisions.
As part of cost-cutting efforts, Amazon fired 100 employees from Amazon Studios in April. As part of its reorganization, Amazon fired staff members from its Fresh Grocery locations in July.
