Pakistan sets up deportation centers to hold migrants; Details inside

Pakistan will establish deportation facilities for illegal migrants in the country. It is the recent move in a campaign by the Pakistani government to deport anyone who enters the country illegally or without proper documentation. Beginning on Wednesday, anyone discovered residing in the country unlawfully will be taken to these deportation facilities.

In the Baluchistan region of southwest Pakistan, three deportation centers will be built, one of which will be in Quetta, the provincial capital. In the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan, three deportation centers will be built. To decide whether to deport the migrants or allow them to stay in Pakistan, the deportation facilities will hold deportation processes.

To avoid being arrested, illegal immigrants — including those from Afghanistan — must leave Pakistan by the deadline on Tuesday. Beginning on Wednesday, migrants will be detained and taken to deportation facilities.

Since Pakistani authorities announced the crackdown, more than 60,000 Afghans have gone home. Sarfraz Bugti, the interim interior minister of Pakistan, declared that there would be no extension of the deadline for undocumented immigrants.
