India's Campaign to End Child Labour: A Determined Step Towards a Brighter Future

Child labour is a persistent issue that affects millions of children around the world. India, with its large population, has been at the forefront of combating child labour and striving to provide a better future for its young citizens.

India has implemented robust legislation to address child labour. The Right to Education Act, 2009, made education a fundamental right for children aged 6 to 14, aiming to ensure access to quality education and discourage child labour. Additionally, the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Amendment Act, 2016, expanded the scope of child protection by prohibiting the employment of children below the age of 14 in all sectors.
