Goa is known for its stunning beaches, beautiful landscapes, and vibrant nightlife

According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), the crime rate in Goa has increased steadily over the past few years. In 2020, the state reported 3,367 crimes, an increase of 5.5% compared to the previous year. The majority of these crimes were related to theft, assault, and cheating.

Role of Migrant Workers

Goa has a large migrant worker population, mainly from other states of India like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand, who come to Goa in search of employment opportunities. Many of them work in the tourism and hospitality sectors, which are the state's primary sources of income.

However, migrant workers in Goa often face several challenges, including low wages, poor working conditions, and lack of social security. These factors can lead to frustration and discontent among the migrant workers, which may contribute to their involvement in criminal activities.
