Pune Porsche accident: 2 techies dead as speeding Porsche clashes onto bike


On Sunday night in Pune's Kalyani Nagar Area, a devasting accident happened where 2 tech professionals were killed by a speeding Porsche 2 tech professionals were killed by a speeding Porsche, that was drove by a 17 year old, crashed with their bike during 2:30 am. The driver, who was found alcoholic and coming back from a nightclub, tried to leave but was beaten by bystanders. The Porsche, traveling at 160 kmph, struck the bike from behind, killing the riders instantly.


The police presented the accused in Pune District Court 15 hours after his arrest, urging the judge not to issue a lenient judgment or transfer him to a juvenile home, as he is 17 years and 8 months old.
DCP Vijay Kumar Magar of Pune City Police stated that the police sought custody of the accused. Despite their request, the court granted bail under the condition that the accused write an essay on road accidents and work with the Yerwada Traffic Police for 15 minutes.

The court's decision provoked public outrage, both on the streets and on social media. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis replied by promising strict action to be taken against the attacker, stressing the intensity of the situation and guaranteeing that he is personally looking into the case to avoid such incidents in the future.


The suffers, Anis Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa aged 24, both were computer science graduates from Pune's DY Patil Institute of Technology. Anis was from Pali Town in Madhya Pradesh, who supported his family, including his father who owns a printing press and his younger brother who is also currently studying in DY Patil College in Pune. Ashwini was from Jabalpur, was planning to surprise her father for his upcoming birthday. She was returning from a get-together with Anis when the fatal accident occurred.
