Baloch Activists Rally Global Support: Urgent Appeal Against Human Rights Abuses in Balochistan
Baloch activist Mahrang Baloch and others are working diligently to shine a light on the difficult situation facing the Baloch people of Balochistan, Pakistan. They seek to raise awareness of human rights issues and rally support for their cause, especially among Pakistani youth.
In the fourth phase of peaceful demonstrations, the activists are publicizing incidents of enforced disappearances without cause and extrajudicial killings lacking due process. Mahrang Baloch is calling on all people to share news of these problems and stand in solidarity with Baloch aspirations. The movement organizes meetings internationally and outreach campaigns in schools and colleges to spread their message. Meanwhile, protests against disappearances have entered their 50th day across Balochistan and the capital Islamabad.
Mahrang Baloch and fellow activist Sammi Deen Baloch recently briefed United Nations representatives on Balochistan’s troubled realities. They detailed cases of disappearances, unlawful deaths, and perils of peaceful dissent. The Baloch Yakjehti Committee facilitated the meeting and petitions the UN to dispatch fact-finders.
To increase support and awareness, the committee launched the #IStandWithBalochMarch social media campaign. It aims to unite voices worldwide behind justice for Baloch people facing hardship. The initiative calls for an end to human rights violations and ensuring Baloch security and well-being.
