Iran Hangs 17-Year-Old, 685th Execution This Year
A 17-year-old boy named Hamidreza Azari was hanged by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s authorities in the eastern town of Sabzevar in the province of Razavi Khorasan, a grave violation of human rights.
The 17-year-old child was tried on November 24 and found guilty of murder, according to the Iran Human Rights (IHR) organization and the Hengaw organization, both based in Norway.
The child killed a guy in a brawl that happened in May of this year, according to the Iranian authorities. He was put to death in a jail in the province of Razavi Khorasan’s Sabzevar.
In his family, Hamidreza Azari was the only child. He had been employed as a scrap worker in Iran. Iran executed the youngster in violation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, according to Hengaw and Iran Human Rights (IHR) NGOs located in Norway.
The 17-year-old boy’s hanging in Iran has been widely condemned by human rights organizations. A child’s execution is prohibited by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child as a breach of their human rights.
Anybody under the age of eighteen is considered a kid under the UN Convention on the Rights of the kid. Since 2010, at least 68 juveniles have been executed in Iran.
