Hamas releases American mother and daughter; They reunite with family

Two American captives, Judith Tai Raanan and her daughter Natalie Raanan, were freed by Hamas terrorists on Friday. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) received them. In Israel, they were reunited with relatives.

The Hamas-Israel confrontation caused Judith Tai Raanan, 59, and her daughter Natalie, 17, to suffer. They were freed by Hamas fighters, a major win for women’s rights.

Near the Gaza border, on October 7, Hamas terrorists kidnapped them along with scores of others. The mother-daughter team traveled to Nahal Oz, a town in southern Israel, to see their family. They were taken hostage by Hamas militants along with other victims of the bombing.

Judith Tai Raanan was ill, and the mother-daughter American team was freed, according to Hamas, on “humanitarian grounds.” The two American hostages’ release was likewise confirmed by the US.

The ex-husband of Judith and father of Natalie, Uri Raanan, expressed joy at the information. He declared, “I’m going to hug her and kiss her, and it’s going to be the best day of my life.”

“Jill and I have been holding close in our hearts all the families of unaccounted for Americans,” US President Joe Biden said, adding that the two US citizens would “soon be reunited with their family.”
