On Tuesday, Bihar unveiled new regulations that substantially elevate the compensation offered to the families of migrant workers in the event of their demise while working in other states. The compensation, which was previously set at Rs. 1 lakh, has now been doubled to Rs. 2 lakh. This augmented support acknowledges the significant role these workers play in the nation's labor force and the sacrifices they make to provide for their families.

Bihar, being a state that contributes a substantial portion of the nation's labor force, has been acutely impacted by the migration of its workers to other states in search of employment opportunities.
