Meesho Announces Third Round of Layoffs Amidst Shift Towards Profitability

Meesho, the Indian e-commerce company, has announced its third round of layoffs, with 251 employees let go in a move towards achieving sustained profitability. The company stated that it has made the difficult decision to part ways with 15% of its workforce, as it looks to transition to a leaner organizational structure.

This announcement follows similar moves made by other major companies such as Amazon, which has also been experiencing layoffs and job cuts. While Meesho has not disclosed the departments or roles affected by the layoffs, the company has expressed its gratitude towards the departing employees for their contributions.

This latest round of layoffs is indicative of the ongoing wave of job cuts and restructuring taking place across various industries as companies adjust to new economic realities. With the pandemic still impacting global economies, businesses are prioritizing cost-cutting measures and pivoting towards more sustainable business models.
