Political Rivalry in Spain's Election Puts Courier Workers' Rights at Stake

As Spain gears up for its upcoming elections, the political landscape has become a battleground for parties with starkly different ideologies. Sumar and the center-left PSOE are facing off against Vox, a new far-right party that has witnessed a surge in support due to its vehement anti-Muslim, anti-immigrant rhetoric, including a controversial promise to expel all undocumented migrants.

The Popular Party, representing Spain's traditional right-wing, also joins the electoral fray, setting the stage for a highly competitive contest.

While political debates focus on immigration, sovereignty, and the nation's future, one group stands deeply concerned about the implications of the election's outcome - the courier workers. Despite a lack of official statistics, many riders believe that over half of all food deliveries in Madrid and Barcelona, Spain's two largest cities, are carried out by couriers who lack the legal right to work.
